Upgrading the firmware on iFP players
The following instructions apply to the Firmware upgrade for the iFP-700 and iFP-800 series players.
WARNING: This process will erase all the music and any recorded files on your player.
Please download the proper firmware HEX file from the download section and save it to your computer desktop.
Next
- Insert a fresh AA battery into your iFP player.
- Connect your iFP player to the USB Cable and into your PC
- Press the Play button to power on your player. It will show "USB Connected" on the screen.
- Open iRiver Music Manager
- Click the Format icon in the lower right corner of the iRiver Manager (pictured below)
- Click OK on the "Caution Format Player" screen
- Click OK when the format is completed.
- Click Tools then click Upgrade Firmware
- Click Upgrade on the Firmware Upgrade screen
- Browse to the location of the firmware files extracted at the beginning of this process. (Your computer desktop.)
- Click on the HEX file located in this folder.
- Click Open and the Firmware update will begin.
*Please Note: DO NOT click on OK until your Player has powered-off as this will complete the upgrading process.*
- Disconnect the player form the USB cable and power it on. The new version of Firmware will be shown within the LCD Screen.
The player has now been upgraded and "NO FILE" will be displayed in the LCD screen. Connect your player and transfer songs to the player. Enjoy!
