H300 FAQ


Q: What are the software requirements for the H300 to be used with Windows Media Player?
A: Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2 installed.

Q: The H300 does not show up in Windows Media Player, how do I resolve this?
A:
  1. The USB cable must be attached to the MEDIA port on your H300 for Windows Media Player 10 detect the player.
  2. Your version of Windows XP may not have Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2 installed.
Q: How can I tell if I have a Service Pack installed in Windows XP?
A: Right click on your "My Computer" icon and click "Properties". The System Properties screen will be displayed. This screen will show if any service packs have been installed.

    

If no Service pack is listed, then the system must be upgraded. Please visit www.microsoft.com for updates.



Q: The User Guide indicates an external microphone is included, but it was not in the package. Where can I find it?
A: There is a type-o in the manual. The external microphone is optional and can be found in the Accessories section of the iRiver America eStore. http://www.iriveramerica.com/estore/

Alternatively, any PC style microphone should work properly with the H300.

Q: Can the H300 play video files?
A: No, the H300 can play MP3, WMA, and OGG audio files and display BMP and JPG images. The player does not have any video functions.

Q: Can I play music and look at pictures at the same time?
A: No.

Q: Does the player have "USB On-the-go" for connecting external devices directly to the H300?
A: No.

Q: Some of the functions, features, and accessories for the H300 aren't the same as I have seen online. Why is this?

Q: Can I use firmware from other regions on my H300?
A: If your H300 was purchased in the US, it is only compatible with US firmware. Please only download and install firmware from www.iriveramerica.com.
