Q. What is H100 Manager?
A. H100 Manager is a software application that is installed onto your PC in order to use the Database function within the H100. Q. What is the skip protection on the H100?
A. The H100 loads music to an internal memory buffer before playing back the files. Because the H100 uses an internal Hard Drive, the player is very stable and is not subject to any sort of skipping or jumping that can happen on CD-type players. For these reasons, the H100 is skip-free and suitable for running, jogging, walking, or any other active use.

Q. What is the Database function used for?
A. The Database function allows you to find MP3 files by Artist, Album, Genre, or Song Title as indicated by the ID3 tag of the MP3.

Q. What types of media files does the H100 support for music playback?

Q. Can I replace the battery within the H100?
A. The battery within the H100 cannot be replaced as it contains an internal battery that cannot be removed.

Q. How much playback time can I get from a full charge of the battery?
A. The H100 will playback music files for 16 hours before needing to be recharged. The player works by spinning the hard drive, loading songs into a buffer, then stopping the drive. Please note that any activity that increases the amount of time the hard drive spins will cause the playback time to be reduced, including: Adding and deleting files from the H100, playing back files or higher quality such as WAV files, and creating / updating the DB file.

Q. How long will internal battery last? Will it have to be replaced eventually?
A. An internal Li-Ion Polymer battery is used for H100. The life expectancy of rechargeable batteries is usually calculated by how many times it can be re-charged / discharged and charged. The manufacturer of the H100 battery guarantees that it can be re/discharged over 3,000 times. It is also guaranteed to perform at a minimum of 80% of its initial performance before 3000 times of re/discharging.

Considering these factors, if you play the H100 for 4 hours per day, you can play it for 4 days before recharging it considering a fully charged battery can last up to 16 hours.

After 3 years of use the battery performance will still perform at least 80% of the initial performance. The initial playback time may be shortened to 12 hours and 48 min (from initial 16 hours); therefore the battery expectancy life will be about 4 to 5 years for normal users.

To extend the battery life: Li-Ion Polymer batteries do not have a memory function not like a Ni-Cd and Ni-Mh battery. We recommend recharging the battery before fully discharging in order to extend the battery life.

Q. How does the H100 sort files?
A. By default, the H100 will sort files and folders numerically or alphabetically based on a folder's title or file's iD3 tag. Once the H100 has been updated using the Database function, the Player will be able to dynamically sort files by Artist / Album / Genre / Title / File-Folder.

Q. How do I adjust the recording levels for the H100?
A. You can adjust the recording levels for the H100 by setting the "Bit rate (kbps)" within the Main Menu (Main Menu / Record / Bit rate) of the H100. The bit rate can also be adjusted by pressing the "UP/DOWN" arrow button on the H100 while in "Record Standby" mode (This only applies when recording in MP3 mode and not in WAV format.

A higher Bit rate will provide for better sound quality but will also increase the file size as a lower Bit rate will provide less sound quality but will decrease the file size. The Bit rate can range from 40kbps to 320kbps.

Q. Can I delete files from the H100?
A. Deleting files or folders from the H100 cannot be done on the Player itself. Files must be deleted while the H100 is connected to your PC. To delete files or folders from the H100, connect the Player to your PC, select the files or folders to be deleted and press "Delete" on the keyboard.
