Instructions for using Windows Media Player with iFP series players



The iFP-100 / 300 series players now offer the capability to playback files purchased from online music sites:

WMA Files purchased from online sites will now play back on your iFP-Players while using the appropriate Firmware for your Player. You must transfer these WMA files using Windows Media Player and not through iRiver Music Manager or any application provided by your download service.

To copy music onto the player:

The following instructions will help guide you through the transferring process of your files to your iFP-Player using Windows Media Player:
  • Connect your player to your computer using your USB cable and power the player on.
  • To open Windows Media Player click, Start - Programs - Accessories - Entertainment - Windows Media Player.
  • Once open, click on the icon titled "Copy To CD or Device".
  • Using the left side of the screen select the music you with to transfer. First by selecting the group from the dropdown list. Then by individual tracks by putting a checkbox next to the desired songs.
  • Then use the right hand side dropdown list to select the iFP player.
  • All songs checked on the left hand side (see image below) will be transferred to your iFP-Player.


Once the music to be transferred has been selected, click the Copy button in the upper right hand corner to begin the copying process. The files will show a progress bar as each is copied to the player.

Once transferring is complete, disconnect your Player from the USB Cable and begin playback.

To create a folder on the player:
  • Select the iFP player from the drop down list on the right side of Windows Media Player
  • Click the "Create Folder" button above the iFP player listing.
  • Type in the desired name for the folder then press Enter.
  • To copy music into this folder, click on it once to highlight it, then click the Copy button after selecting the tracks to be copied.
